Recyclable PVC Floor Tiles, Putting Eco Into Smart Flooring

We produce quality products for industry, whilst being as green as possible. And for us, minimizing our footprint is achieved in a number of ways.

We look to create zero waste, and have designed our floor tiles to be 100% recyclable. So when they come to the end of their life in a business environment, they can be recycled and made into the next generation of floor tiles. The same for any off-cuts too, we recycle them and never throw them away. And as many of our installations don’t need to use adhesives when laying flooring, we’re minimising the use of those too.

So when sourcing flooring which is durable and fit for industrial use, remember to consider what happens after it’s served its purpose. Smart Flooring tiles can be 100% recycled.

What Is Smart Flooring Made From?
Each Smart Flooring tile is injection moulded using either virgin, recycled or a combination of both virgin and recycled material. (virgin material: Something not previously consumed or used)
The very high quality of recycled material used in the creation of our recycled tile actually has a lower filler content than some of the ‘virgin’ material used by competitors!!! (Fillers are particles added to material). Therefore our tiles are more durable, less likely to mark or scuff and are guaranteed not to warp or deform. The method used to manufacture Smart Flooring not only guarantees a better quality of floor tile, it also helps to minimise impact on the environment too.

Can Smarty Flooring Be Recycled?
Smart Flooring is 100% recyclable. At the end of its service life the tile can be granulated and re-used to manufacture a new floor. Most floor coverings only have a limited life span due to wear or are scrapped for refurbishment. The majority of waste floor coverings will end up in landfill. This is because once a floor has been adhered to the floor, it cannot be re-used. Not only can our flooring tiles be recycled, there is also a strong market for pre-owned tiles, so you can rest assured that when the time comes to replace your flooring. It will not end up in Landfill.

Who Recycles Our Eco-Friendly Flooring?
As an environmentally responsible company we can arrange to collect any excess material or off-cuts completely free of charge. This means that when the tiles have reached the end of their useful life at your property, or if you have anything left over once the floor has been fitted, you can simply get in touch with us. What About VOC Content?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a high vapour pressure at room temperature. Their high vapour pressure results from a low boiling point. This causes molecules to evaporate or separate from the liquid or solid form of the compound. These can enter the surrounding air and can be toxic.

Volatile Organic Compounds are something we take very seriously here at Smart Flooring, and whilst trace elements are unavoidable from modifiers and non PVC based additives, we work hard to ensure that this is significantly less than any resin based flooring system or the VOC levels encountered when using adhesives to stick down conventional floor coverings.
